Everybody needs a truck at some time. For me, a truck is a luxury that I just had to have. Whether taking a trip camping, hunting, or hauling loads of lumber, dirt, mulch, etc., you have to admit it is handy to have a truck. Truck owners love to use their truck as a truck, and truck owners love to add accessories to make their truck their own.
I bought my 2001 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew 2WD used in July 2004. It had about 70,000 km on it. Today it has 98,000 km on it. In the nearly 30,000 km and two years I've had the truck, about the only thing I've had to do to it was replace the transmission. Before you start the Ford bashing, I must admit that: a) I was bagging on the truck a bit, and b) I do not know if the transmission fluid had ever been changed. So... after dropping $3,000 on a new transmission, the truck has been great ever since. Oh, I also changed the spark plugs and got the limited slip differential clutch packs replaced. That's it. This truck has started every time, overall I've been very happy with the truck.
My truck is two-tone, black on silver. It has grey interior with the cloth captains chairs. I've added to that an Extang tonneau cover, Ford running boards, a ScanGauge, Cold Air Intake kit, and a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system.
I spend a lot of time at Ford F150 .net, a Ford truck enthusiast community where there are tens of thousands of members that just want to talk trucks. I highly recommend you check them out.
If you need a truck or want a truck, the Ford F-150 is a great way to go. They're reliable, comfortable, and popular. So you can be sure to find many accessories and mods for your truck.
